We've got a fantastic end to the year coming up, kicking off at The Hollow Tree in Bradley Stoke on 24th Nov. A new venue for us so we're looking forward to bringing some R&R to North of the river!
December is pretty packed and after the 1st of the month, when local by-laws are lifted and we're legally allowed to play Christmas songs in public, we'll be getting all festive and jolly at:
Wrapping up an awesome 2023 for the Frogs at a brilliant, newly refurbished venue - The All Inn on Staple Hill for a Rockin' & Rollin' New Years Eve Party!
See you out there!
Do you know the Carbon Footprint of your Band?
We used some excellent online tools to have a crack at calculating the impact The Frogs have on the environment.
We've already made some proactive changes. We've reduced the amount of gear we use, switching to IEM's and ditched stage monitors. Going amp-less and reducing our backline by feeding straight in to the PA and digitalising most of our kit to cut down on the number of power outlets we use. Still, when you add up home practice, weekly rehearsals, gigs, the equipment we buy individually and for the band and everything we consume from clothes to a round of drinks at a gig that are directly related to The Frogs, it all adds up.
Overall, our energy consumption is pretty low, especially when compared to your average household or business. Of course, as a Band, we're not operating 365 days a year for starters.
Clearly, our biggest carbon impact is travel and a reliance on private vehicles to get to and from rehearsals and gigs. We do car share where we can but this is still a big chunk of our carbon footprint over any given year.
Like most people we're limited to what more we can do so offsetting seemed like a positive next step. It's not ideal and there are arguments for and against but we've chosen to sign up to www.carbonfootprint.com where you can calculate your annual tonnage and choose a suitable destination for your offsetting charge. In this case a spread of global projects, focusing on developing countries that need additional environmental support.
It's a small step but we wonder what the impact would be if every small, gigging band took some time out to calculate their environmental impact and actually did something about it....
We've uploaded our offsetting certificate to the website and are committed to reviewing this every year and taking positive steps to reducing our environmental impact.
Over to you.
We've had some great gigs lately and a busy period coming up.
On 7th July we'll be helping celebrate JHF Mentoring's 10th Birthday at Kenn Village Hall.
And then on the 8th we're back at The Nailsea & Backwell Beer & Cider Festival which is always a fantastic weekend long event.
Later in July we headline the Under a Summers Moon Festival in Burnham on Sea. Our first Headline show and first time in Burnham!
See you out there!
The clocks have changed...and the heavens have opened.
Welcome to Spring!
This week we debut at the Pitcher & Piano on Bristol Harbourside and 2 weeks after that we head off to Tall Pines Golf Course for a private Birthday Party.

See you out there!
Our year is about to kick off with a visit to a few new venues for us. The Royal Oak and The Pitcher & Piano. Both very different so we're looking forward to getting stuck in.
We've also just landed the headline slot at the 'Under a Summer Moon' Event in Burnham-on-Sea. This was a hugely popular festival event back in the 90's & noughties ad after a 15year break, it'll be back with a bang! As always, check out our social media feeds for up to date information. '23 is gonna be crackin'!
Sadly we had to close out 2022 with a cancelled gig due to the Bristol winter Lurgy getting hold of a few of the band members.
We're all on the mend now though and looking forward to the year ahead.
Next up is a new venue for us, The Royal Oak on Gloucester Road. We're taking the opportunity to start the NEW Year with a NEW venue and some NEW songs.
The beauty of our chosen genre is that we really are spoilt for choice when it comes to picking songs to play.
Our remit is to get you up dancing, and as long as a song is kinda Rock 'n' Roll, sorta Rhythm & Blues, and generally from the middle part of the last century, then we'll take a look at it and see if it fits with The Frogs.
As always, we're really looking forward to getting back out there. supporting local venues and live music and seeing all of you lot, hoppin' & boppin' the night away....
The Frogs are all saddened to hear the passing of Jerry Lee Lewis. An innovator and Hellraiser of Rock & Roll.
You can see our tribute to Jerry Lee in the gallery section when we gave it everything we had last night at the Halloween in a Barn gig at Easter Compton.
Things are starting to busy up as we head into darker nights and colder days...
Thankfully we've been able to retain our current line-up of fantastic musicians and there have been no surprise leadership challenges or resignations after just a few weeks in post...
We're off on a Bristol pub crawl soon, starting with The Cider Press on Gloucester Rd on 12th November. Then we're off to The Rising Sun in Ashton Gate on 19th before heading back to Gloucester Road on Dec 10th for a return to The Blue Lagoon.
Before that we have our Halloween in a Barn night out on 29th Oct supporting Hooper. Tickets still available so check out our Facebook page for more info.
See you out there folks!
We're starting to emerge from our summer hols now and get back into the swing of things as we look ahead to Autumn/Winter. Next up for us is a return to the Nailsea International Bike show on 11th September. This is a great weekend of live music and Motorcycles, all raising money for a worthy cause. Hopefully we'll see some of you there.
This week we hope to announce a massive Halloween gig on 29th October....watch this space for more details....
We also have a private party booked for early Nov.
Further plans are afoot to get out and about across North Somerset bringing great Rock & Roll dance tunes to the masses!
The Band had a great weekend of gigs, although playing in the most recent heatwave brought it's challenges. We played at the The Whitchurch Pub in South Bristol and the Poachers in Portishead, both for the first time. The latter was moved to the outdoor bar and garden area which was a welcome relief after temperatures topped 33°c.
Keeping a band of 7 together over the summer period is always a challenge as we all balance work and family commitments. We've got a few weeks off now and will be back with a bang at The Nailsea International Bike Show on Sunday 11th September.
